A fellow member of my gun club spotted Jerry walking toward him in the crowd at the NRA National Convention in Indianapolis a few years ago. He approached Jerry to say hi, shake his hand and compliment him on his career. Jerry commented that he was on his way to grab some lunch and asked if he wanted to join him, which he did. My friend said he had a great time sitting and chatting with Jerry during a long and entertaining lunch, adding that Jerry is a wonderful, down to earth, friendly guy.

Paladin is correct. Jerry is a down to earth guy. I've had the privilege for many years now to see Jerry, His wife Kay, daughter Lena, and Kay's brother Jim jr. (before he passed,) on several occasions. Salt of the earth good people. Kay is also well known in her abilities,, AND her hard work in getting more ladies involved in shooting.
Jerry's abilities are what we could call the pinnacle of human performance rarely seen.

Here's a picture of Jerry & I many years ago. It was at the Area 6 USPSA match, where I was working as an RO. For a little fun fact,, the young lady on the far left in the baseball cap,, that's daughter Lena, at about 13-14 years old.

When I see videos like this I always want to see more. It'd be nice to see hi resolution super slo-mo of his gun hand as it goes to the gun
and the rest of the sequence. Would like to know the time split between the start of the shot timers beep and beginning of his hand movement
toward the gun. What does show in the video is how "quiet" his body is, hard to see how he's dressed but basically nothing happening
that doesn't need to, head for example doesn't move at all on the draw. Maybe a little extra push forward after the last shot, sorta like
an exclamation point.
Looks like the gun is starting out of the holster before the timer beep is done. My timer has a 1 second beep anybody know if they're
all a like?
Edit....I lied, mine is .5 seconds, seemed longer.
Google is my friend today, looks like .3 seconds is a sort of standard, if so he's got the gun coming out of the holster pretty quick!!!

Jerry may not be a youngster anymore but if you take a look at these corded arms in that video you will be glad you don’t have to arm wrestle with him!

Jerry does have strong arms and hands. His fingers are thick, and calloused.

Todd Jarrett once shared with me that the reaction time that the brain has to send the signal to start movement was 20 thousands of a second. Grand master level shooters can get the signal and have rounds on target in 1/2 a second.

If you watch Jerry in slo motion it is probably about as fast as most of us shoot in real time or faster.

Having watched, in person, Bob Munden AND Jerry,, I can say that beyond a doubt,, BOTH are too dern fast for just about anybody else!
Side by side, against each other,, and a shot timer clock,,, I would depend upon the type of handgun, the type of target, and the distance.
Bob shot a lot from the hip,, UNLESS the distance was increased.
Jerry does his stuff mostly from the draw, AND where he brings the handgun to his eyes. If Bob had to do that,, it would have been interesting.

I'd like two, say 8 inch round targets about 3 feet apart maybe 25 to 30 feet out. Draw and shoot 1 round each from a timer start,
any handgun you like, shooting however you want...just hit the targets.
We'll never know, I guess I'd have bet on Bob Munden.....Double the distance.....???

Under the guidelines you've put forth,, I'd give the edge to Bob. He draws & fires as he clears the holster. And an 8" plate at that distance,, he'd very likely hit them easily. Jerry would lose a little time by bringing his gun up to his eyes. And Bob's SA handgun action & his method of firing it would be quicker than Jerry operating the DA action.

He seems to be a great guy and obviously an awesome shooter.
I have to wonder about the revolver. Trigger and hammer do not even seem to move, yet ignition is extremely reliable.

I can attest to the fact that Jerry's actions have heavier than stock springs in his revolvers. BUT the actions have been smoothed up to where they don't feel that heavy.
He's just that quick at running a revolver.
