No casings ejected

Took my mini-14 out shooting again. I shot 15 rounds out of the 20 round magazine and noticed no casings were being ejected. We looked all around and NO spent casings on the ground. We watched the action on the last 5 rounds and no casings were ejected. I put in another magazine and fired 2 rounds (I believe they were a different brand). The casings ejected with no problems. I don't know what to think or do about this. Any ideas?

Have you looked into the next county? Modern Mini's are well known for throwing the empties so violently, you want nobody standing in the way of ejection.

Unless you were manually charging the bolt every shot, the casings were indeed ejected. Depending on the ammo, could easily be 20' away. I consider casing shot through a Mini to be effectively disposed of.

The spent casings did not eject out the top of the rifle. The only place they (20 rounds) could have gone is out the barrel. I'm baffled.

ROTFL. Brass is a colloquial term.

"Cases" is the appropriate word. I'll accept "casings" from someone who thinks that his cases aren't ejecting.

Thats the rare model only used by special agents. The gun actually eats the brass after fired. Lucky you, you don't need to pickup the empties.

I think the ammunition might be defective. The brass case must be dissolving in your rifle’s chamber.

Check the cover over the bench where you were shooting for bent from the ejected brass, when I first got my Henry Homesteader, I could not see brass on the ground. I fired another mag and could hear them bouncing off the bottom of the roof of the bench cover at the range. It would appear the brass was going up more than to the right.

They didn't eject casings either.

Must be the very rare distributor edition "Copperfield Ranch Rifle" from the Abracadabra Corp.....there are not many of them in circulation...they just seem to have disappeared. They also made gun lubricant that doubled as vanishing cream.

What if the "brass" is steel? The proper terminology is cartridge case, hence "casing". "Brass" is a derivative term as well.

Cartridge case is correct and therefore case is correct as a short. Casing is part of a sausage.

Got a 38 special that does the opposite; all eject except for one particular brand.
