I just got my 44 Special Sheriff returned from a trip to Ruger. It had started locking up while being fired. It did it three times after firing various numbers of rounds and I finally thought to call them on Dec 16th...after arguing with them a bit, they finally agreed to pay shipping. I got it in the mail on the 17th...and it made it back on the 31st...so, it was only gone 2wks...considering that Christmas came during that 2wks...it was great service by any standard of measure.

Also, while it was there, they replaced the gripframe due to a problem with it (funky contoured trigger guard)...and they replaced it with a non-lock gripframe....

Proud to have it back in working order.

Bravo! Another accolade for Ruger CS. Did they indicate what the lock up problem was? Based on my experience, the barrel to cyl gap was too tight. A little fowling and/or expansion from the heat of shooting and binding occurs. The hammer doesn't have enough leverage to overcome the binding.

Did you complain about the trigger guard mis-shape or did they pick up on that and take the initiative to fix it on their own? Pretty cool you got a newer one w/o the lock.
