Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, I'll definitely be giving my feedback on it when I get a chance to fire it off. I'd like to throw a couple through it tomorrow at the range when I pick it up. Maybe I can just run a borensake through it real quick to make sure there is nothing in the barrel, then give it a run through with 50 rounds...take it home, and give it a more thorough cleaning.

good choice. Did you get the stainless? Of all the pistols I've had I like the p95 the best. Only thing I'd change with my p95 is that I wish it was a DAO. I love the DA trigger, but the SA feels a little "funny". Great gun though.

Yep, I went with the stainless option. It just appealed to me more for whatever reason. So far, I've held it in the hand for about 1 minute and dry fired it a couple times. There was a healthy amount of creep on the trigger going to single action, but most people learn to eat that up instinctually in between shots after using the gun a few times it seems. I found the lbs necessary to pull the trigger to be sufficient (especially compared to my stock 10/22 that takes like 7.5lbs or so)
I know some people find the p95 to be bulky..but I have no previous comparison, so it just feels like a pistol to me.
Now I just need to learn about 9mm ammo. I would like to have a cheap range ammo option, and some sort of high pressure jacketed, hollow point, blow ur brains out, etc. etc. for home defense. Fortunately, I can see Cabelas from my window

My p95 does real well with Remington 115gr umc jhp. I find it around here for $12-$15 per box of 50. I like it because I can shoot a lot of it to test for reliability and use it as a home defense ammo. I've shot several hundered rounds of this stuff with no malfunctions. If I bought the fancy $1 per round sd ammo I doubt I'd do much practicing with it.

Great choice, yeah, the P95 is a little chunky but I CC mine daily with no problems. Enjoy the pistol, she's a great shooter.

Good choice... I bought my first one when they first came out, and a second one a couple of years ago when the "railed" PR95 came out. still have both.

Any new firearm has a learning curve to it, but the P 95 has a very short
learning curve. I have had one for about a month and a half. Mine was
made in July 2010. I have spent the last 2 or 3 years trading in and out of
handguns searching for the "right" one. I have been thru Glocks, Sigma's
Springfield HD and a few wheel guns---finally got what I want--P95.
I agree with PistolPete-- the Rem 115 JHP is a great round to carry and
practice with as well. I carry mine in a IWB with a thumb break and hardly
know that it is there. I just put another 15 rounds down range this afternoon--- nice tight 3 inch group at 10 yards. I always practice at
10 yards. Mine is stainless as well, I am really impressed at how well
the P95 is fitted together and now nice the bead blasted finish looks.

Yeah I found the take up on the trigger in SA a little strange. But when actually firing it I don't notice it a lot.
I have scarcely read a report on a gun where somebody didn't like something about it.
Learn adapt and get comfortable then get accurate!

Congrats on the pistol, great advice dispensed so far. Make sure you clean it, don't limp wrist, and fun will be had by all.
As far as plinkin ammo, you can't go wrong with the Winchester white box (WWB). I get mine at Wally World for $23 per 100. That is cheap enough to pick up 2-3 boxes at a time, and my area (Iowa) has them stocked all the time now.
I'm not a sure-shot with mine by any means, but I chalk that up to my lack of skill. If it were a bad guy intruder, it would be the difference from me putting a 2" group in his right lung while I was aiming at his left, so that's good enough for me*

So I picked up the piece today on my lunch break. Didn't fire it off as I figured I'd take it back after I get a chance to clean it. Not firing a new gun when the range is right there is pretty hard to do
. Anyway, I did pick up some ammo. Took your advice on the 100 box of the Remingtons for range use. Then, I grabbed a 25 round box of Hornady Critical Defense rounds. Those will be for home defense. You can look up info on those here http://www.cabelas.com/p-0066032216932a.shtml

I think you will be happy with your purchase. My KP95DC has functioned 100% with various FMJ target ammo: WWB, American Eagle, Rem UMC, Sellier & Bellot, Blazer, Blazer Brass, Olympic(Greek), Fiocchi, Wolf, and factory reloads. In JHP, Federal 9BPLE 115 grain +P+, 124 grain HST, and relatively inexpensive 115 grain Rem UMC(100 round box often available at Wal-Mart) all cycle fine.

With those make SURE you slap the mag on your hand before inserting it into the gun... That's something you should do with any mag, but with the plastic tip rounds its especially important.... I was having a problem where the gun wouldn't load the next round ONLY with the hornady hollowpoints... Hand cycling I found that the plastic tip can rub on the front of the mag and slows it down enough to cause feeding problems. Slap the mag to move the rounds to the rear and its not a problem. I changed to speer gold dot HP's anyway....
As for the p95, love mine.... we put about 200 rounds though ours the day we bought it.... I didn't think the trigger was too bad when I bought it, but its REALLY nice now.... I spent a few days just pulling the trigger sitting on the couch watching TV, dry fire..... Ive pulled the trigger on it at least 6000 times... plus around 1000 times with ammo in the chamber.... Everyone who shoots it comments on how nice the SA trigger pull is.... I dont know If I got lucky or what, but there is NO creep and it breaks like glass.... I dont like shooting DA, not because there is anything wrong with the trigger, but because its too long, like all DA pulls.
The only regret on mine is that I didn't get the decocker instead of the manual safety....

I've noticed with my P95, if the very first round is pushed all the way to the back of the mag, the mag will not slide into the gun properly. All the other rounds can be pushed back, just not the very first one.
Just a weird quirk, i guess.

On the P-95, no it doesn't matter. I did most of mine without the mag. On something with a magazine disconnect like the SR9 it would matter. (it should not be dry fired without the mag in place)
But with the P-95, mag or no mag makes no difference...
