I'm seriously considering a C39. The last review I saw, they shot it neck and neck against a Ruger Mini 30 and beat it in accuracy.
Not much of a range report but I did take it out to a private range in 35 mph winds yesterday
and fired 60 rds of TUL through it. The 1st round would not rack, to tight in the Magpul mag.
Removed the 1st round in both mags & it performed like I expected it to, PERFECT. I'm sure
these mags will loosen up from use. A little heaver than my AR but very manageable. Not able
to get a perfect view of my targets due to heavy winds but was still able to ring a few gongs.
I believe at the $$ price this AK is a great buy and a very very well made American rifle.

Thanks for a summary of your outing! All in all, this sounds like a great offering. I've considered AK's on numerous occasions but have never jumped on one. Having 'Made in USA' as an option is HUGE - definite game-changer for me!! Hope you get this one out often! Thanks!

The milled receiver guns are quite a bit heavier than the stamped receiver guns and if the mags don't work out pick up a few surplus military Mags, they are inexpensive, they work and they are readily available. Kalashnikov USA and Radom have both announced they will be building AK rifles in the USA and will be available by the end of the new year. This will give Americans access to the Saiga as well as the Polish Beryl.

I really don't know why this would surprise anyone, the AK is known for 4" to 5" accuracy with steel cased ball ammunition but loaded with good European ammo or hand loaded ammo in a brass case with the proper .311 ammo it is a very different creature and still retains the capability to shoot shall we say "crappy ammo" with 100% reliability which seems to run about a 30% failure to fire rate in the mini 30.DA_TriggR4Ruger said:
