I was searching around for Bearcats (always looking) and found one that said it was a "two digit" and it was advertised as a 'first year' model. At once I was VERY interested. I contacted the seller and ask what the 'two digits' were. His response was "022". Now I am beyond interested; I am flipping out as I have found something I have been looking for forever. I then started thinking, did Ruger place a "0" before the last two numbers in the early models? So I again contacted the seller and asked if there was any "alphabetical" prefix to the number? I received the answer this evening. There WAS a prefix to the number and it was an 'alphabet' gun and not a true two digit. It also was not a first year. It was a '59 model. My search continues!

As we say; "The devil is in the details!"
Many folks fail to understand the sequence of serial numbers in many things. They get a gun with a prefix,, followed by 3-4 "0"'s (such as 80-00005) and think they have a "first production single digit" gun.
Sadly, a little research & such will educate them,, but many fail to accept such information.

Keep looking,,, one will appear!

Yup.. You know what they say.. The question is free, but the answer might cost you...
