Need some help

I am currently looking for a 17mach2.

I received this email today and not that familiar with 10/22's I was hoping you guys ccould give me a ball park as to what this rifle is worth.

here is the email
"I have a NIB full blown custom Ruger 10/22 conversion with a Boyd’s thumbhole stock, Clark custom trigger assy, CPC 17HM2 milled and jeweled bolt, Tuffer Poly Buffer, extended magazine and bolt release, Leupold rings, a Tasco varmint hunter scope, and a custom case. Also, a case of Hornady ammunition. This set-up is not a run of the mill rifle as it is set-up and ready to go for some serious shooting, plinking or hunting. Let me know at: Thank you."

I was really looking for a cz452 but I am a bit interested in this Ruger.
No idea what to offer and I do not want to insult the guy by coming in way to low.

saw only ONE 17 cal at the show this past weekend and it sold right away...as for the 10/22, that is one of them "total of the sum of all the parts"
the 10/22 is one of the largest platforms used for "aftermarket stuff", right up there with AR-15's and 1911 45's.........you'd have to look /see what any and all of those components sell for and "add it up"......saw one this weekend the guy had well over $650 into ( on top of) his $199 10/22.....

Let the seller set a price and see where you are.

If you are in the ball park offer them 20% less and see what happens.

Agree... Price it all up to a bsll park figure and make a reasonable offer on what you assume the price should be. Let him know you not sure about all the custom stuff but you thought XXX seemed to be a good starting point based on your knowledge

Hers some good info,, they no longer offer the conversions,, when you can find a barrel and a Heavy bolt handle together they can be pricey!

I'm curious why you want a .17 HM2 over a .17 HMR. I don't know a lot about these myself, but am interested to learn more. I was under the impression that the HM2 is sort of fading out and that the HMR is not only faster and more accurate, but the ammo itself is more readily available, tho more expensive.

I just don't understand why someone would buy a new gun in HM2 (rebarreling makes sense to me) - can you comment? Surely the difference in cost of ammo isn't a huge factor with this round. Also, this paragraph on the EABCO web page would worry me a LOT:

My sense is that folks should be selling their HM2 guns, not buying new ones....? Thanks.
