Has anyone personally done this or had it done and how did it turn out? I'm not enamored with the 22/45 LITE but would like to have a pistol with threaded muzzle. I have a spare slabside 4" and heavy round 5.5" and have been contemplating having this done. One guy says he can do it attached to the receiver w/o problem. I understand this would be preferable to trying to remove the barrel.

Any good gunsmith can thread the barrel for you. And yes,,, do so with the barrel still in the receiver. The trick is having it set up in the lathe off the center of the bore axis. That way,,, any suppressor mounted will be in alignment with the bore. You'll also have to have the front sight removed & set back a bit.
