Hill Cumorah region
wife and I took a quick spin around the neighborhood coming back from lunch,

and once again, as we passed by all the Mormon sites we couldn't help but be impressed by the quality of the care (at least outwardly) that they put into their properties and buildings. The landscaping is impeccable, and buildings are beautifully maintained.....

anyone else lucky enough to have them as neighbors, or some others who help keep market value$ up . . . . . 👍

Interesting. I don’t know where the Mormon church is in Dallas, but I wonder if they are all like that.
this is the Temple just north of Dallas, impressive as well. I've yet to see one that wasn't....

Regardless of what one might think about that particular religion, they do take care of stuff it seems . . . . . 👍

this is the "Hill Cumorah" where they held their musical pageant every year, not sure what caused them to stop holding it . . . . .

Around here? There are more Mormon buildings than 7-11's and McDonald's combined. They ignore water restrictions and if you are not "of the flock" you and your children are shunned. Up until about 10-15 years ago there was a law on the books that no building in Salt Lake City could be taller than the church office building. Sorry. Not a fan.

Back in the late '60s maybe? When my daddy was working for the Air Force Base here, his entire group was moved to Utah. They all had the opportunity to go with the group. He hesitated. One of his buddies that went, let him know real quick, if you don't intend to be a Mormon you don't want to come out here.

every religion seems to have it issues, which is why I contained my post simply to the quality of their properties and maintenance. I've meet quite a few of this group and always had cordial conversations and left it at that. They also always seem to be nicely dressed conservatively..... 🤷‍♀️

I can't get past the fact that when my grandmother married a soldier who wasn't a member of the church they basically shunned her. After my grandfather was killed in the Meuse-Argonne offensive they refused to help a pregnant wife of a deceased soldier. Only one cousin, who had her own issues with the church, helped.

You can't tell me how great you are when you treat your own people that way.
