Modifying a P89 Barrel

Has anyone ever done mods on a Semi-Auto Barrel?

I have a KP95 and recently obtained a P89 Barrel. The dimension are close, but the problem is the P89 used a swinging link and the P95 doesn't. I believe it will be possible to mill the "swinging link" section to the same specs and the P95 barrel.

Is this a bad idea? Anyone with any ideas on how to go about it?

rmansu2, You need to realize that they are two differently "engineered" systems. One utilizing a camblock and the other not! When factory engineers design firearms, they lay out and figure in all angles and dimensions with parts compatability and inter-action considered. That's why guns often take 2 to 3 years to come to final fruition. When you "mess" with engineered products, you had better know as much or more than the factory engineers do if you intend to change designs. Your idea in my estimation is "NOT" a good idea. If you want another P-95 barrel then buy one! While some parts in firearms can be modified with success, the barrel is not a good candidate. It is the "heart" of the system and understand that when you start messing with it, you could be fashioning a "grenade" that might go off in your hand!......................Dick :wink:
