mkII 512 heavy barrel -rear sight finish almost gone

Wondering if it's best to replace the rear sight on my mkII 512 HB with a Ruger replacement or try a Millet sight.
The blueing is almost all gone on the sight. Any suggestions?

If you simply want to be able to see the sight better then blacken it. I know this may sound silly but a pack of matches will make the sight 'shootable'. Fire one up and smoke the sight. Cheaper than a carbide lamp.

yessir, or even some flat black paint, or a 'black marker pen' or spend the money and buy a new one, the complete assembly ,they ALL work...just what ever YOU decide to do........

I'd ditch the aluminum Ruger sight in favor of an all steel one from Volquartsen, Millet or Kensight. Much better sight picture to boot!

I've used black markers, tried some bluing for the aluminum,all with similar results. The aluminum comes shining through. Thought the Millet might offer even more precise adjustment, too. This pistol is very accurate and has provided many grouse dinners when and where legal to do so. lol
