The whole "good price" thing is my downfall. I'm still haunted by the $259 OM Super Single Six at the local shop. I haven't been back there since I saw it because I know if it's still there I'll buy it. I don't really want it (6 1/2", not a favorite) and I surely don't need it- but $259!!!
It's an addiction, an obsession, what more can I say? I too went down the RXM rabbit hole yesterday. The new American Rifleman came with an article…and I was promptly looking up what parts interchanged with a G19, and checked out leather, and magazines, which led to looking at 9mm PCC's, which led to looking at the Henry Homesteader with a Glock adapter. Luckily Amazon interrupted my research…they delivered a couple of stainless hinges for swinging pistol mounts in my safe, because I'm out of room! But it doesn't end there…
While in my safe I was looking at all my HK's. My daily carry, P2000SK, was jabbing me in the ribs a bit. So I tried on all my holsters and corresponding pistols, one by one, and came to the conclusion that I needed a thinner EDC- because I saw that HK has a new gun, the CC9, that is their most compact yet. More research…
Finally my wife came home from the DR and reminded me that I needed to move more bales of hay and bring in more firewood. Well, that snapped me out of my blissful research. I decided that it would be better all around if I just lost a few lbs…the EDC was fine when I wasn't quite so round.
Of course, that was all yesterday. Today is a new day… and I need to get those hinged mounts built…

I did something even riskier then buying a brand new Ruger product, I bought (gasp), a new Kel Tec, and I mean a whole new design, the polymer frame P15. But that was just over $220 something as a PSA Deal of the day. Like ok, it WORKS, has functional sights and the magazine holds 12 or 15, with a Glock shaped extension. As a truck gun, it's perfect.
What's the best we're seeing on the RXM, $389 or so? I have a little bit of mad money set aside (until my $5000 check shows up
), so a sale priced RXM could get my attention, I'll need to invent some logistical need for it, but I'm pretty good at that.

Last summer I lost my job so decided to stop buying guns. That lasted until I went to a yard sale and looked at an antique .22 pre serial number single shot. Mossberg in excellent condition. Casually asked the price and the guy says I'd have at least $40 for it but Ill throw in the case! When they practically give them to you, what can you do? Then I found a new job and started looking again. Medical bills are actually slowing things down now but it can't keep me from trading!
My LGS calls me also, but on ANY Ruger that comes in!!

Well I thought my buying days were over she said no more come Jan 2025 my birthday she saids you want a gun for you birthday or a big party I turned 70 . You know my answer so I got the new HK and thought for sure it’s my last one. So we visit a friend every Valentine’s Day we stay with them for a couple of days I always bring my guns they have a great free range up there anyway I came home with the smith revolver I been wanting this revolver for years he finally sold it to me . Again she says last one .
I bought my last one for my birthday in January, then I bought my last last one on February 8th. Apparently you’re NEVER too old and you can’t possibly have enough…and I’m good with that.

I suddenly decided it would be fun to have a 10/22 in .17HMR (I just like that little round). A few quick google searches looking for a 10/22 Magnum receiver returned a strongly worded warning against trying to turn it into a 10/17, something about the cases exploding because of too much pressure, okay, that's cool, guess I really don't need one... wait, what's this? Savage makes a delayed blowback semi-auto .17HMR?!?! :unsure:
Guess I will watch a few of the auctions to see how they are selling, none of my gunsmith's distributors have the laminate stock versions available and I do not want a synthetic.
Even though the safe is bulging at the seams and I am going to need to "store" half a dozen guns at my gunsmith's.
