so, today being in the low 70s and a slight breeze clearing some of the humidity, I went to the range. I haven't been shooting a lot for a while, and I had two revolvers I hadn't shot yet, both .41 Magnums. The range is about 25 minutes away, a nice drive. Got there, no one else there, got set up, started shooting when I heard a whistling noise. Looked at my insulin pump, and my Constant Glucose Monitoring sensor had expired. Yep, I forgot it was Thursday and needed to be recharged.

So, just one more thing. I packed up and went home. 12 rounds fired, just beginning to get the feel of my Tyler Gun Works Blackhawk, and we're done. Hope tomorrow is nice as well before it heats back up.

Ha, ha. That would be great if you could give it enough of a jump to last a couple of hours. It lasts pretty close to exactly a week time wise. I started it on a Saturday, which it would be easier for me to remember, but I ended up getting one that didn't last the whole week. So, we moved to Thursday.

Turd, you said you are on an insulin pump. So that means the GCM wasn’t really the problem it was that your insulin pump couldn’t monitor correctly and inject the insulin as needed since the sensor was dead. I’ve got a GCM, but I’m not on an insulin pump so my GCM dies or tells me it’s higher or low I can self modulate blood sugar. It’s a good thing you knew it was out and went home. No sense taking a chance 25 minutes from your homebase just because you want to shoot a few rounds. Stay healthy and then have fun.

Luckily some of us don't have that problem, yet.. then again we get to the range and realize we forgot the damn ammo or us semi-auto guys forgot the magazines for the gun....or the hearing protection.... the list goes on....

100% agree. I have done it (thankfully) only once. Collected my range bag ammo hearing protection arrived at the range and my handgun was still safe at home. :cry:

I usually install a new CGM the day before the current one expires. That way I don't have to worry about the 24 hour wait until the new sensor can be relied upon.
It also avoids things like TURD's issue. If the pump needs charging you can always use it until it dies. The rely on injections. I'm sure you carry emergency insulin and supplies when ever you leave home.

Could be worse, you could remember to take your handgun to the range and forget to take it home with you.
