Excuse my ignorance. My max nine is a model 3500. It came with 2 ten round mags. I called Ruger they said it's a California model per customer service. How ever, it will fire w/o the magazine. Which is a requirement for California. Is the lack of a mag safety device mean it's not a California model. Thanks

Depends if it was put on the gun roster as having been built with one. Not all guns will have it.

I am thinking of the Galloway trigger and read the trigger pin is different for the California model. Trying to see what I got.
Thanks for the input. I want to try one but the California thing has me wondering if there will be problems due to pin size.
I think the mystery is solved. The gun does not a loaded chamber indicator or a mag safety. Therefore, even though it came with only 2 10 round magazines I think I will go ahead with the Galloway trigger assuming the gun is a regular not California.
