Will the magazines from a Ruger Mark II semi-auto pistol operate in the Mark 1?

You have to first depress the follower with a small dowel and push the pin
holding the button out of one side, then while still keeping the follower
depressed, insert the button on the other side and you're good to go.

I'm looking @ the magazine...I see what your saying.

Thank you!

Yes, they will fit. If you need to swap over the magazine follower depends on the year of manufacture for your Mark I. If your pistol is a 1972 or later manufacture then the magazine follower button stays on the same side as a Mark II - the left side. If it is a 1971 or earlier model then you have to swap the follower button over to the right side of the magazine body. The other physical external dimensions of the magazine body are the same between the generations. The main difference is the capacity. The earlier standard/Mark I magazines hold 9 rounds because the magazine floorplate is fixed and takes up more space. Later on they changed the floorplates over to removable versions and this left more room in the magazine for an extra round making the capacity ten.

My Mark 1 is post 72' so it looks as if I'll be good to go with a Mark II magazine. 1980 vintage w/ A100 frame.

Again Thanks for the help!
