Question:
I have a Ruger M77 MKII 22-250 with the skeleton stock. When I load the gun with all four cartridges the first one has yet to fire. It dents the primer but thats it, then I cycle the next cartridge in and it fires along with the other two. This has happened the last four times I took it out to shoot. Any suggestions?

The first thing I would recommend is taking the bolt down/apart. Inspect, clean and then lightly oil and then retry your observed sequence. At first thought I do not see how the fullness of the magazine would affect reliable ignition. Sometimes patterns are observed which just so happen to resemble patterns but are actually just coincidental. Let us know and welcome!

Is the bolt closing completely on the full magazine ?

Yes it closes all the way. I marked the bolt to see if slid further between the first and second and it appears to be in the same spot.

Took it hunting over the weekend and loaded all four then ejected the first one leaving just the 3 loaded and no problems.
