I picked up a Ruger M77 RL in 30-06.
Anyone shot this rifle and have a load recommendation.
Looking for something in the 150 to 160 grain range for whitetail deer.
Thanks

My Ruger 77 I bought in the 80's shot very well with a 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip and IMR 4064 powder.

I second the 4064 with Nosler ballistic tip 150 gr. Mine will shoot them into one oversize hole off the bench at 100 yards. It will do almost as well with most other name brand 150 gr bullets too. I use cci large rifle primers. Last white tail I shot dropped so fast I thought I missed. Had to go see where he went.

51 or 52gr of IMR 4064. That is a classic load for the 150gr bullet. Also 48gr of the same powder for 180gr pills. The latter was used by Jack O'Conner frequently.

150gr Rem Bronze points over 49 gr. of 4895. Has been my favorite load for 45+ years. My rifle really likes the Bronze points. I bought 1000 bulk BP's a long time ago and they have been great. Other 150gr.bullets work well, but i only hunt with the BP's.

I settled on 52.3 grains of IMR 4064 with the 150 Nosler BT. Very accurate. Unlike protoolman, my M77 didn't shoot as well with other bullets I tried... namely Speer, Winchester ST and Rem core-lokt.
