Is there a warranty on my SR40?
I was just looking through my case on my new sr40. I dodn't see a warranty card to mail in.
I read the back of the manual, and it said they don't give them any longer? The cards?
I went to the website and gave my info, serial no. etc... in case of recall stuff.
It was...ruger.com/newowner
Is this it?

Last few times I had to send in Rugers or receive parts, I was charged. Ruger doesn't have a stated warranty that I'm aware of. Don't know how Ppl keep getting all freebies.

Ruger is great, if your gun is defective/breaks in any way they will fix it for free. You contact them and they will send you a shipping label and they will handle the rest. Now if you just want something done to you gun then they will charge you.

What I was dealing with on all cases were actual issues. One example was broken "doggy ear" on MK II bolt. Another issue was stripped thread on p89 frame.these guns were both production guns at the time. I'm aware of several times members here got these and other issuesfixed free and some times were charged. These weren't the only issues. Nothing was fixed free guess it helps not having a stated warranty. You can afford to be inconsistant. I'm not bashing RUGER here. But will probably get flamed anyway.

X2 No written warranty, but never had a problem with customer service.

Hey DA !! How's it going ?

Most of the time you have to specifically ASK to have the item fixed under warranty for free ... AND ask for a free shipping label. They won't tell you that they can do it if you don't ask, but if you DO ASK, they will generally relent and send the free label and process the claim for free. Sometimes you just gotta sweet talk the person who answers the phone.

My experience with Ruger customer service has been outstanding. With my SR9, I never had to ask for warranty repair or a shipping label; just explained the difficulty and CS told me "it shouldn't do that" and took care of everything.

So far my SR9 is performing flawlessly. If it keeps on performing Ruger will have a customer for life, and there will be another SR9 in my near future.

Likewise here I purchased my SR9 and right off the bat it was not performing. Called customer service, explained my issue. They sent me a shipping label and off it went for a week and came back shooting flawless at 100 rounds.

No issues with my SR9 but about six weeks ago I called Ruger to see if they had any rear sights for one of my Security Sixes. I got lucky and they had a couple left in stock. Not only did they send it to me at no charge, but they also sent me a replacement front blade sight too. Now thats customer service, especially for a 30 year old gun, so I'm sure they will take care of you. Its reasons like this that many of my handguns are Rugers, that and they are made to last.

2 Calls on my new SR9c. One for excessive (IMHO) scoring on the side of the guide rod ass'y and one for a 10 round mag that won't drop when loaded with 5 or more rounds. First call they sent me a new guide rod ass'y, second one they sent me a new 10 round mag and a prepaid return envelope. Hate to tell them but the new mag does the same thing as the old one. Gonna tear it down and deel clean it but can't see how that will make a difference. Not looking forward to sending the whole gun in if it comes to that.

Hopefully I will be happy soon. I called them a few days ago, and explained that my brand new SR40 was having a feeding issue with the first round getting hung up on the feed ramp. She completely understood.
They emailed me a label for overnight air and it should be there today.
She told me they don't give a written warranty any longer, since each state is different, with their conditions of a lifetime warranty.
Very friendly, and hopefully I get it back right, and continue to purchase Ruger products.
