Well, like I expected, the shop was busy this morning. Stopped in about 10am (opens at 9:30) to buy some ammo and a couple mags. Hung around for a little while and overheard a couple newbies getting educated on AR's and pistols.

Several other regulars were in also picking up the usual stuff you find in a gunshop.

GunnyGene: Why did you expect the gun store to be busy today? Over what happened in Paris?

It's fairly common around here for gun stores to be closed Sunday and Monday. Not sure why. There's one I haven't been to and it seems Monday is the only day I ever remember to drive over to it. (Not very close) So...haven't been yet.

My 'local' gun shop is 50 plus miles from me. They're worth the drive due to the great deals and service.

They do an ENORMOUS business and are so busy on Saturdays, that they take Sunday AND MONDAY off.

Sounds a lot like my favorite "local" shop, about 35 miles away. Always worth the trip, but I don't get there nearly as often as when I used to live about 8 miles away. I've been a loyal customer for over 35 years, and they always treat me like family. The owner was on the NRA Board of Directors for many years, and continues to be an effective spokesman for our 2A rights.

GunnyGene: Why did you expect the gun store to be busy today? Over what happened in Paris?

Partly that - as a small trigger; but also because of the upsurge in rowdiness at various universities related to the BLM business, immigration & refugee's, continual battles over the 2A, and similar events over the past few years. When people have been on edge for a long time, it doesn't take much to convince them to do what they can to protect themselves, and guns and ammo are part of that.

It's never just one single thing, but a continuing trickle of things like this that finally gets to them.

Much like the list of grievances in the Declaration of Independence that took years to come to a head.

Just my humble opinion, and it may have been just coincidental yesterday morning. One data point doesn't make a trend.
