Called ruger today about a cleaning kit for this LC380. Didn't get no help, as for advice, for products from another company. They don't endorse I guess. Is there a trusted site to order a kit for this gun. This is the first semi auto with the poly frame that I ever owned. Brand new from Gander Mountain.Need to get some expert advice. Thanks a lot.

Given it's small size and relatively easy disassembly, just about any cleaning kit should work for you. You could stop by any outdoor store and pick up a universal cleaning kit for ~20$, although this would be overkill for cleaning just one LC380. A much cheaper option would be to pick up a bottle of CLP or other universal cleaning solution and some cotton patches as well as some cotton swabs from a pharmacy and just use that. The kit will give you all the bells and whistles for cleaning everything but most of my cleaning of pocket guns like this is done without tools due to their tiny size.

By the way, welcome to the forum. If you haven't cleaned a handgun before, I'd read some instructions online/watch some YouTube videos before just leaping in. It's easy to lose small parts if you're not aware of when things might pop apart.

As noted above,,, get a gun cleaning kit & use it. Make sure you read the manual about disassembly & all first. If you get gun cleaners vs. other stuff,,,, you should be ok on that gun.

A simple kit like this http://www.midwayusa.com/product/593995/hoppes-pistol-cleaning-kit-38-9mm-caliber plus some cotton patches and an old toothbrush is all you need to start.

There are some good videos on the Ruger website.

I just use an old tooth brush, Q-Tips and a patch through the barrel with a little Shooters Choice in it and put it back together.

Tooth brush cleans the rails and brushes out the area where the magazine goes, add a little grease to the rails with a Q-Tip and when running the patch through the BBL, clean the feed ramp and you are done. Takes 3 minuets or so. 8)
