I would surely have to see more definitive evidence then that to decide if that is a correct conclusion.

I agree, finding a persons DNA on the scarf .. Clothes... of a dead prostitute does not mean they killed her. I suspect there was lots of 'unknown' DNA on her clothes...

Not to mention the chance one of the descendents "x"- grandmothers could have been a "wrong side of the sheet" of the Tudors, or the barbers or the...

I think the work has much merit for a number of reasons that extend beyond the DNA match:

1 - Kosminski was one of several strong suspects.
2 - Kosminski was a Russian immigrant who came to London just prior to the start of the murders. We have no way to know if he conducted similar acts of murder in Russia.
3 - Nobody has ever been able to explain why the murders stopped as abruptly as they started... The fact that Kosminski was committed to an asylum could certainly answer that question.
3 - There was a witness who ID'd Ksminski in close proximity of one of the killings.

Based on what I have read to date, this theory has the most credibility.

A key point about the scarf was that it was a rather expensive article, hardly something that would be in the possession of a woman who had sold her shoes. The suggestion is that the scarf, with its significant floral decoration, belonged to the attacker. That makes the link more definite.

Prostitutes were often paid with articles of clothing instead of money..remember, they lived in grinding poverty. A shawl would be something nice to have. So, some gentleman trades his wife's shawl for some fun and now the hooker has a pretty piece of clothing...

I'm still skeptical on this until I see more about his research methods, however, on the surface he may be onto something..
