Several months ago, I bought a OM Single Six. It was an impulse buy simply because it was a decent price and a 5.5” bbl, which is what I wanted. Met him after work (it was dark) and carried through with my agreement even though (surprise surprise!) it was partially disassembled when he showed up. I was assured that he had been cleaning it and lost interest but that it was a good pistol. Long story short- it had missing parts and messed up springs. I could source some NOS springs online, and contender helped me a lot with the entire ejector setup. I still had a cocking problem which turned out to be the wrong hand. I found a correct one and oh my goodness- this pistol shoots great! I am so excited that it finally is ready to be practiced with and to go with me to Colorado next year. Thanks to contender for his help through this endeavor.
PS: there is still no (literally none) bluing on it. Just some small rust spots... and some shiny metal. Should I cold blue it, or have some kind of finish put on it? I don’t want it to look new. A Matte finish or a cold blue maybe? Ideas? Thanks, Mike
