Interesting info on my old model .30 Carbine

Got my letter from Ruger today. My recently acquired old model Blackhawk .30 Carbine was shipped in Jan of 1971 to Hodgdon! Raises more questions than it answers. I wonder if they used it for load development, or if they had a retail store, or what?

I already wrote the letter and will drop it in the mail tomorrow. Somehow, I never thought of emailing them! LOL! Guess my age is showing.

So, from what I could find out, my gun was shipped to the B.E. Hodgen company. This was the company started by Bruce Hodgen and apparently was a forerunner to the actual Hodgen powder company. They had a retail store, and apparently my gun was just sold at the store. As the original company is no longer in business, the records are no longer available.
