I had posted on here the other day about a problem with my vaquero. Got it fixed by a gunsmith but wanted to say thanks to all who posted responces on here about what the problem might be. The guy that worked on it said he thought this gun might be some special edition of some sort. Thought I would describe it to you and see what you guys think. It has a case color hardened frame with a blued barrel and the ejector rod shroud and grip frame and trigger guard area are all nickel. the grips are mother of pearl and are beautiful on this gun. I looked it up and serial number dates it to 1994. thanks

Ruger has never made any nickel Vaqueros.
Are you sure it's nickel? Oftentimes, people polish off the blueing on grip frames & EJR housings, to give them a "Pinto" look.

Glad you got it fixed! What was wrong with it?
New gun or used when you got it?
Original Vaquero or New Vaquero?
Is the warning on the left side of barrel or bottom?
2 digit or 3 digit serial # prefix?

Didn't come from Ruger that way especially the MOP grips. Touch it with cold blue. If it turns blue it's polished steel. If not, polished stainless. Or nickeled by someone after it left Ruger.

the gunsmith told me but i didn't really understand what he was telling me. It's fixed anyway and function's great now. got it used a month or so ago. warning on the left side.. 2 digit prefix..55-193xx ...original model made the second year they were made as best I can tell by the serial # . If I can figure out how to post pics on here I'll post a few of it.
