Depends on bore dia. But I had to use a .313 Lead head It was a 1873 made in 1900 very accurate with 4 gr .Unique

I don't load .32-30, but my SOP is to go with the slower burning powder. Typicall produces lower pressure with equal velocity. Rule of thumb only, the proof is in the shooting.

Another powder you might want to try is Ramshot ZIP. I have had good luck with it in a variety of calibers to include 45 ACP and 9mm Luger. Here in Utah it seems to be more available than Unique. In bought some last week for 32.00 for a pound.

crow#2, you got a VERY good deal on your powders.

I use a lot of just a few powders. Unique, 2400, 4227, HS-6, Longshot, are among my major go-to powders for about 98% of my handgunning. I have loads using TrailBoss, H110, 231, & a few others. But the others are my normal "go-to" powders to start most of my load building. I use several manuals,, study, then begin experimenting. once I find a couple of loads that seem to be the better performers,, I start re-testing, and develop the most accurate load I can for that gun and the combo of components.

I have 4198, 4895, 4350, BL-C2, and a few others I use in certain rifle calibers. Those are my major go-to powders there.
