I am going to make some 300 Savage out of 308 cases. I am wondering which route to take. 1. Anneal shoulder area and resize. 2. Resize then anneal shoulder area. 3. Resize and reload with no anneal. My anneal process is to dip case into lead pot at highest heat for about 3 seconds. This only works well if spent primers are still in case to prevent molten lead from flowing into neck. Which option would you do?

I've never used the hot lead method of annealing. I built an annealer for forming my .256 Win brass out of .357 Mag brass. Then about a year later,, I found a good deal on a commercial annealer.
I always anneal prior to resizing any brass I plan to re-form.

And after it's initial firing,, I anneal again.
