Another "Shooters Disneyland" with comparable prices for the pampered elite with deep pockets. :roll: I'll never see the inside of it, and not just because it's too far away. My backyard suits me just fine and it don't cost $26/hour to use a 25yd range.

A massive, $6 million gun store and shooting range opened in New Hudson, Michigan, on Saturday. Planted on 18 wooded acres is Huron Valley Guns’ 39,5000-square-foot facility that offers all the the typical gun shop amenities plus a few added luxuries.

The store front features a 9,000-square-foot showroom filled with guns and accessories as well as gunsmithing and cleaning centers, a cafe, barber shop, cigar humidor and an indoor range with more than two dozen lanes, according to the company website.

Huron Valley Guns owner Ed Swadish described his business as “one of the first super-range, tactical training centers” in the midwestern region.

I think the Trump family might be missing a business opportunity here. A high end exclusive gun range resort sort of thing would fit right in with their golf courses and other resorts. :wink:

I live 2 min from the new Huron Valley Gun shop. Nice n pretty. Whole lot of space they need to fill up with stuff or its gonna look like a going out of business sale. Wandered thru there on Sunday. They have a kitchen where they can cook you a $9 burger.

There's a business, offering guns, accessories, ranges, classes.

All GUN related.

And we're complaining?

More participants/gun owners/fellow 2nd A. supporters?

Most of the gun prices seem reasonable or in line with other retail prices I've seen lately.

The intro class prices aren't exorbitant and might attract "converts" to our "cause."

Shouldn't we be encouraging MORE shooters and MORE sport shooting and MORE interest in the sport?

And if a savvy businessman is able to turn a profit selling the SHOOTING INDUSTRY to our fellow Americans, shouldn't we encourage that?

By the way, as far as range prices, maybe someone here can break down the cost of operating an EPA-compliant air-conditioned and heated facility in Michigan for us, with the required ventilation and air exchange requirements being fulfilled.

Not everyone can afford to live in the country in their own "private Idaho," but shouldn't beginners also have an opportunity to begin?

No problem with bringing in new shooters. The issue is that places like this automatically segregate based on wealth and social status. You won't see any low income people mingling with the rich and famous in this place, any more than you would see them at an exclusive golf course. But maybe they'll have a "Bring a poor guy to the range" day, once a year. :roll:

Agreed.

One of the trap ranges where I used to shoot regularly had a sign in the window:

"Don't complain about the prices. Make more money!"

One thing I've noticed about shooting ranges is, at least with those I've visited, most people leave their social and economic status in the car while they're shooting. Afterwards, maybe they go home in a far nicer car than I'll ever have, to a house I'd feel uncomfortable entering, but for a while, guns are "the great equalizer" (although not in the sense we've grown up to think of...)

I can't imagine what the overhead is. Taxes, Insurances fire, liability etc. , employees wages FICA, disability Ins, unemployment ins., and benefits, inventory, licenses, upkeep and all others costs. Most people don't think about what it costs to run a business

They also have a range that costs in the high five figures to join and a brick-ton of money to visit as a non-member.
