Hummingbird activity down?

We always have a couple fuchsias hanging on the porch along with many other flowers that usually draw lots of hummingbirds. This year it doesn't seem like there are anywhere near the numbers we usually get, hardly seen any. I hope it's not like this everywhere. Whats your hummingbird population like this year?

Not many here either, my wife loves watching her hummers but so far this year not a one.

Not seeing as many as in years past. Used to have several, not now. Last year I had to refill my feeders every other day, this year every other week.

Had a couple coming in to the feeder for a few weeks earlier but the last week or so I haven't seen any. Don't know why.

Our Hummingbirds did not show up this Spring.

I've never seen more than one hummer at a time; I've seen one this year.

Dittos...Last year they were swarming and fighting over the feeder. I had to refill it at least twice a week. This year I've filled it twice in total I think! I see a few, but numbers seem definately down... :?

Numbers are running similar to previous years if not up a little here in N. E. Kansas

Maybe it was the longer cold season that has delayed or reduced the numbers.

Did a quick search and found this website, Maybe it will have an explanation:

During nesting time hummingbirds may not be as likely to come to feeders. They are feeding insects to their young. Once the young have left the nest and during the fall migration you will probably noticed increased activity at your feeder.

Hi,

I normally only get four of 'em per year, a resident male who sticks around all year, his mate who seems to disappear for a while when it gets cold, and another pair that shows up later. I've seen all four of 'em so far, but not on the daily basis I'd expect by now...

There are several feeders on my regular bicycle route which are usually pretty busy, and haven't seen many at them, either.

I've seen a few at flowers, but none at a new feeder. Gonna put the old one back up and see what happens. Sort of a cool wet spring here, but upon the 80s today.

Plenty here in the central part of NC. I've been spending some retirement time with them out on the patio.

Covered up with 'em here in upstate SC, but they did seem a bit later than the past few years.

I too have noticed that the hummers are not at the feeders much anymore. We had a crew of two or three earlier this year but nothing lately. I have two feeders and so does my neighbor. She said that she hasn't seen them much lately either.

How about honeybees? I have several patches of clover in my yard, but have only seen one or two bees. That's really sad.
