How Many Ruger 77 RS 22 250's

There is a lovely Ruger 77 RS in 22 250 listed in tthe classiffieds. I looked for a very, very long time for one of these. As I look back, that search lasted nearly twenty years! I finally found one and still have it. In my search I handled one other one that was already sold in PA. I also saw a photo of one that was in North Dakota. That was gone before I saw the listing. Heck, I've seen and handled more RLS 22 250's than that. Does any body have an idea of how many that made?
I hunt mine. It carries and balances beautifully. It's moa with Winchester 45 grain ammo that give pink smoke from groundhogs way out there.

Can't say - My tang safety Model 77 is a Model 77R in .250 Savage, and a joy it is. :mrgreen:

The answer is not a lot, as you discovered. Ruger does not give out production figures.

I have never looked for one but now you have me curious. I saw the classified for $1400 and thought it was a lot but was unsure as I have never really looked for one. Agree have seen at least 5+ 22-150 RLS. Just too cheap to pay the price and was not on my list to buy.

As a guess, probably less than 10% of tang safety 77s were RS and even fewer (PL) round tops.

I have one. It is a round bolt. Christmas gift from my wife about 1983.

I have been collecting Rugers for 45 years and have only seen two. One of them I still have. Have seen way more RSI 22-250's.

Just out of curiosity, of the two you have seen, what was the split between round bolt and flat bolt RS rifles?

I have a friend that has a flatboat 22-250 RS. It is the only one I have seen.

Robert, the two I had were both round bolts. Had a flat bolt 77R 22-250 and 220 Swift Varminter. Also had FB 6.5 mag, 284, 308, 243, 6mm, 350 mag, hollow bolt 25-06 and 7x57, 280 Varmint, all NIB. Also had all the blue 77 RSI's NIB. But, kids needed college money. I am selling my 77RS's and try to concentrate on Lipsey's SS RSI's. Gotta love those RSI's!

Let's start a Lipsey's wish list. Wish they would have Ruger make a run of 77 SS RSI's in 350 Mag, 358 Win, 243, 22-250. Also blued Number 1-H's in 450 Nitro Express and 465 H&H, with nice walnut stocks. Let's hear other's thoughts.
