Kind of funny after going through the "not sure" if I'd get one thanks to Jason with the order, the better half said why didn't you get two of them.
That in itself blew me away! Now I wish I had ordered the two of them very nice tight fitting better than my 44spcl. Great article!

Where can I order the 4 5/8"? It's not listed on Lipsey'd website?

It looks like a waiting game now. They can't say the 5.5"er's did'nt sell....

That's because they should have introduced it in the 4 5/8's model first!

I plan to have my 5.5er CHOPPED!

Better yet Bud, 'Ol buddy, 'Ol pal....

Save a few bucks. Don't pay to chop it. Get the 4 5/8, and I'll take the 5.5.... I recall you ordered the stainless, right?

Thought I'd post up my two with my new Bear Paw grips. Finally ... no plastic! My wife made the cylinder bags.

Very nice! Now I know what to go after this winter.
I also am not a fan of the plastic grips they are ok although are nothing compared to what you have.Excellent firearms deserve the extras!

Thanks,
Tom

I already have 2 of the 45 convertables in the full size blackhawk with 4 5/8" but would be tempted to get another in the flattop if it were available. I also have a 7.5" and its not a convertable if I didn't already have the other 2 short ones this barrel would be chopped in a minute to 4 5/8". I like that length in a single action. It just looks right to me. When I buy new guns I but 4 5/8" if offered if not I cut them back to what I want

Keep your eyes on the classifieds, a couple of members are dealers.

Yea I changed my order from 5-1/2 length to 4-5/8 after talking to one of the most influential person on this forum (sixshot), he said that I would love the gun, when he talks, I listen.

HandLoader#275 Lipsey's Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt conversion question:
Brian mentioned prior to doing any load development he ordered from Brownell's a Wolffs spring kit to reduce factory pulls from 72 to 40oz (blued) and 76 to 44oz (stainless). After shooting my Lipsey's stainless 45colt/45acp I was thinking of going this route. Thinking again is it that beneficial to do this versus shooting several hundereds of rounds first then if not satisified (also have a NMBH 44spcl to go with this thought also) go with the spring kit. Just some food for thought.

FWIW Tom,

Brownells sell a two pack of just the trigger springs. It does help.

This works too http://www.cylindersmith.com/triggerspring.html
