Hello
Ive seen pics of what I believe are aftermarket black checkered grips on nm blackhawk flattop and new vaquero. New xr3 size stainless. The logo is part of the casting. These appear more similar to Colt grips than typical Ruger. Is there a source for these? Ive seen the typical Ruger ones with the silver logo imbedded. Anybody have a set?

Didn’t Ruger put those on from the factory?
Put a WTB in Classifieds here.

I like the look. But the factory white grips that come on new model flattops are so thin and useless. Im wondering if these black ones are the same profile or more traditional without the skinny middle portion.

I think those are similar too the after 2005 what I call the "anniversary " models grips came on the smaller grip frames with the straight down the back strap ala XR-3 though I recall the otch is missing at the top front and the locating pin hole is off set ever so slightly like a1/16 of an inch angled upwards.....we use to refit some of those newer grips to old model guns and vice versa,,,,and were the same for a few years, may still be on that smaller framed guns or the flatops like the 44 special or some such,,with Bill E the appleman gone for some years now we no longer get to "see" all the new variations models coming out as he was about the ONLY "true" Ruger dealer in these parts, and he had me move and refit these grips he got from guns, to other guns worked for us............drove us crazy when any of the :distributor specials came out with their own variations from RUger made for them like Lipseys and Davidsons,,those were the days again may Bill E and Don W. the old goat from Bowling Green he too worked with me to modify ,fit those grips, and all the others from here in RUger land gone and left us ,may they rest in peace.....;)

...see the pictures below, one is an XR-3 and the other is a "red" frame ( flaired at the bottom....

I take this as a question of : 1 were they factory? : where can I get some?

As I've mentioned,, the grips in question are factory. I have some in my parts boxes,, that I've taken off a few guns & put custom grips on. But they aren't for sale,, as they go with the gun.
Answer............ yes they are factory and no, contender is not selling his.... :D

Some on eBay right now, my 50th anniversary models has that type of grip on them. They had a hole on the back you could drill through to use a key for the hammer strut safety instead of taking the grips off. Bay item number:326082828720 (not mine)

I bought a Blackhawk that came with those on it. Ordered a set of the wooden ones like em much better.
