I was on the road part of today and stopped by the local(if you call 40 miles away local) JD store to price some oil. There were several employees at the parts counter working on some sort of computer issue as I stood chatting with one of the parts guys. The office door opened and one of the office staff walks out sort of behind me so I turn slightly and see that the next person through the door is wearing a uniform shirt. Turns out to be a guy I know but I didn't know he was now a county Deputy. He spoke as he walked by and I turned and said "Wow, look at you. You really went overboard with the Halloween costume didn't you?".
The chatter at the counter stopped instantly as everyone prepared to duck for cover. The Deputy chuckled and said "Yeah, I spent all morning polishing my badge. What look are you going for?" I replied "Well, I'm trying to give the low key government agency contractor impression". There was an audible sigh of relief from the others when they realized we were poking fun. We had a short chat and a promise to get together for some catching up.

:D :D :D

That's as good as me last night. I went by a grocery store,, and when I came out,, 2 of our local cops were helping a lady unlock her truck. I went over,, and said; "I get it,,, car thieves posing as cops on Halloween!"
The lady looked a bit shocked,, but soon realized I was friends with them.

I used the same costume I've used for years.... I dress up as a somewhat overweight, grey and balding, cranky old man.

I stopped going to Halloween Costume Parties years ago. That was the time that I won first prize for the best costume at the Party.

I was at the party in my normal clothes and didn't realize it was a costume party until I got there.

My buddy and I had a bit of a texting fun. He's a network engineer for Aruba Networks.

He was at a convention down in Center City (Phila.) for Halloween and I invited him over. He said he was headed out with some coworkers. I asked him what his costume was.

He replied that he was going a balding, middle-aged IT guy with glasses...which is what he is.

I shot back that I was going as an overweight, unemployed, redneck couch potato...(see my "gut punch" thread for details...).

I was going to go to a party as a Democrat but my head would't fit up my a$$
