Spooky Halloween!

Interesting to hear that many of you are still getting a lot of kids coming by the door. We never got very many as we live way out in the country, but around here, even in town, they say the numbers are way down. I have been attributing it to many of the churches having "Trunk or Treat" events and the kids load up in the church parking lots.

We had a grand total of 5 trick or treaters, 2 more than last year. They have just gotten too lazy to walk the extra 100 yards or so down our cul de sac.

We haven't had any trick or treaters in probably 30 years.

always buy the candy that you would like to eat, if given a chance or a choice, last year we had three kids , and from across the street, but alas they moved back to the NE to be closer to Grandma, ,and this year (last night) we had ONE , new girl, she's 6, and her brother just moved in the other end of the street, but big brother stayed home, so we gave her a hand full to take home to her older brother (he's 8).....all the kids have grown up otherwise,,,ho hum:cool::rolleyes:;)

Over the years several bands of kids have come and gone. Mostly just born, raised and moved out on their own to bring in their kids. Right now we are in a slack period. But the "kids" next door are starting to have their kids. This means the number will start to grow for a while.

We had about 40 kids visit us - a few more than last year. This year, however, all of the TrT'ers came in groups of 3 or 4. Things slowed to a trickle just before 8 pm, so we turned off the porch and foyer lights.

Still, there's some tasty candy left over for grandma and me...enough to last through Thanksgiving.

I should put out a sign:

EXTORTIONISTS WILL BE SHOT!
