Guns Sticker On Truck?

See them on most trucks around here and never heard of it being a draw for that.... but then when I grew up it was just assumed every truck had a gun in it. Heck the rifles used to be hung in the back window.

I used to have a few "gun reference" stickers on my truck and never had a problem but when I got my new truck I had second thoughts. I decided that I, and anybody I care about, know what I support so why advertise it for the slight chance it might attract a break in or vandalism. In my case, I was more worried about vandalism as most of the stickers were pro-hunting organizations and some of the fruits and nuts in Commiefornia think you're a murderer if you even eat meat from the store let alone kill it yourself. Although some of those nutjobs wouldn't have a problem with someone that hunts being killed.

I have two standard stickers on mine.
1) Reflective U.S. Flag on the lower-left of the trunk/tail-gate.
2) A bumper sticker that says
"Lead, follow, or get the (bleep) out of the way!"

Anyone that is offended by the first had better be looking for another place
to live. Any that are offended by the second had better just pay attention
to what it says.

I've been thinking about putting an NRA sticker on my trunk, but being IL, I think I'll just put them on my gun cases.

I don't drive a "truck"(Jeep Cherokee and 3 pickups, bot no trucks). All my vehicles have some sort of 2A based bumper/tailgate sticker in plain sight(if it's not obscured by dust/mud). Up until a few years back, when vehicle makers chose to use mostly plastic cab interiors and people quit buying regular cab pickups, at least 50% of the pickups seen had a gun rack in the back window. No need for a bumper sticker when you've got a Rem 700 in plain sight.

Years ago Dean Grenell wrote that he had no NRA/RKBA stickers on his vehicles, as a military man I know the value of camouflage.

I had just gotten an '87 F-150 painted and all the chrome BS taken off. It was nice! Clinton was pres. and I had a "Dr.Kevorkian For White House Physician" bumper sticker in the back window. 2 weeks later someone keyed the side 3x's from the front bumper to the rear tail light. Liberals are so tolerant :x

At one time around here gun racks were often seen in the back windows of pick-ups. They carried all kinds of long guns and even saw a few B-B guns and fishing rods. Some of you are old enough to remember axe handles in the rear window. Almost never see a rack with anything but maybe a fishing rod these days. No, I never advertise anything on my vehicle, not even the dealer sign if I can peel it off!

I used to, never had a problem, but don't anymore. The only thing I've ever seen in one of those windows racks are long levels.

Yeah - Like that a$$hole ( a member of the "Terminate The Republican Party" facebook group) that shot up a bunch of conservatives in D.C. today.

.

Don't put anything on my vehicles...Figure no one needs to know anything about me...but what I find myself doing when I pull up behind another vehicle at a red light is see how much I can know about those in the vehicle simply by the back of their car; stickers, license plate, dealer and state...It's amazing how much info one can glean simply from the back of a car.

My truck is worth more than my guns. So I took the brand and model badges off it, I don't want anyone to steal my truck. :?

Well, I have a specialty license plate,, with the NRA symbol on it. And I have USPSA, Ruger & a few hunting type decals. And I go daily into the local liberal hotbed of Trashville,,, eeerr Asheville to work. Plus,, I have my company signs on the doors. Nobody has done anything to my truck & it's a 2004. Maybe the liberals are smart enough to NOT screw with someone like me. They know in this area that there are a lot of gun owners & we are NOT silent.

In 20 years as a cop I've not seen a correlation with gun theft or vandalism. In fact if anything I think your typical road rage idiot might cool off if he thinks the driver may be armed. Ever seen anyone try to run a Harley off the road? Me neither. I see lots of guys around here with hunting fishing gun etc. Stickers so maybe its just all the pickups look similiar though?

I know of no incident prompted by a firearm-related sticker, but why take a chance? The best way to avoid unfortunate situations is to "fly under the radar." No bumper stickers, no loud muffler, no overpowered stereo, no custom license plate. Just another silver pickup.

Well, I do have a front plate that's painted like a confederate flag, but it's the flag flown by Missouri troops under General Sterling Price. It looks like a church flag. :D

I won't put a gun sticker on my car. In the Kansas City area a couple of years ago, there was a rash of gun thefts from vehicles. Seems the local tweakers and crackheads were specifically targeting vehicles with NRA and other gun/hunting bumper stickers and window decals, most of which were parked outside malls and other business with posted "no guns" signs. Knew a fellow who had his truck broken into for almost certainly that reason. Fortunately, he chose to keep his carry piece on him that day . . .

I also won't put political stickers on my cars. I did that with the old Dodge Intrepid I drove while living in KC - I had both a Gadsden flag and a Jacob Turk for Congress sticker - and within two weeks it was keyed bumper-to-bumper, both sides. When I traded the Dodge off for the Hyundai Elantra I currently drive, I contented myself with a small Firefly "I Aim To Misbehave" sticker in the back window. I figure that pretty much sums up my politics, without encouraging the vandals.

Is there a special meaning to that?

Twice I have had people react to my Hillary for Prison sticker. In both cases they changed lanes cutting me off and using hand gestures. In one case the guy exited the highway at the same exit and yelled at me at the next two stoplights until other drivers got on him for holding up traffic.
If he had exited his truck he would have met Mr. Citadel.

It appears there are a couple of aspects of this question. Some are leaning toward not advertising that there may be firearms in the vehicle which might attract thieves. Some are leaning toward political feelings which might lead to vandalism of the vehicle.
North MO isn't what I'd call a "hotbed of Liberalism" so I'm not much worried about that aspect.
I don't leave my vehicle in parking lots often as I work from home. Last time I was out overnight, the parking lot was full of work vehicles with tools, electronics, and such. The hotel was full of working guys who'd probably beat the crap out of anyone caught messing with the vehicles(and those guys were in and out all night). During the day, my pickup sat in a parking lot patrolled by Homeland Security.
I drive older vehicles and don't leave valuable stuff in plain sight-so far so good.

No one has stated a positive benefit of putting a pro gun bumper sticker on your car or truck. If there are no positive reasons, why do it? I always get a good laugh out of those guys with big lifted pickup trucks with the two balls dangling below the trailer hitch.

But as for me, I won't put any stickers on my car, after a while it will fade or tear and just look trashy.

On my Jeep, Whittington Center and Life NRA stickers
on my pickup I travel in, nothing, dark windows, metal locker in extended cab

bigger problem I have seen growing is that some of the Antifa style little jerks and hood rat teenagers are brazen enough to try and snatch a holstered firearm off your hip while standing in line in a convenience store or other place. Good reason to not open carry without vigilance and practicing weapon retention skills.

If dumbass snowflakes take their idiocy up a notch after the baseball practice shooting in Virginia, you can plan on seeing them get more aggressive about vehicle vandalism, blind side personal attacks or armed assaults on you for just having an NRA hat or pro military tshirt or MAGA hat

I have a Ruger sticker on my truck bumper. My buddy said it was a good way to get your truck broke into. What do you all think?

Bisley 45,
I do not put any thing on my tail gate, bumper or windows. My politics are my business. My friends
know how I think.
I never even put a "Vote for" bumper sticker on my vehicles.
Your buddy is right.

A gun sticker ON your bumper does not necessarily mean there is a gun IN your car. Guess the people with Baby on Board stickers better be careful too.

No, not like that. As I said, if he had exited his truck then he would have had a reckoning.
