Received a check for $15.00 covering the cancellation of my GUNS subscription. Gonna miss the magazine.
Honest question-
I don't subscribe to any magazines, paper or digital.
But I do read a lot of stuff online, gun related, shooting related, football, hockey, etc
What is the big drawback of a digital subscription?

I finally got around to emailing them today. Kept putting it off. Looks like I have about a year left on each.
My only magazine subscription is to the American Rifleman. It is currently at a lw ebb for quality. As a Patriot Life Member, I get it every month. I have hope for the future.
I give my already read issues to friends.
I do the vastmajority of my reading on an iPad. I like it. To each his own.

I like paper in hand. For technical stuff (like work), I prefer on-line for easy lookup/find. I gave up my subscriptions and only buy the ones that 'interest' me now.... That is if I can find them...Hand loader was one of the last.
I don't. There is usually only one or two articles that are of interest (why I bought the magazine in the first place). I copy that article, punch it with a three hole punch and add to binder. Magazine is then round filed. Makes it a lot easier to find things too when organized in a binder.
NRA announced there will only be Quarterly editions of the American Rifleman and the American Hunter magazines. All the rest of their publications will cease. Now for the "smoke and lights", the other months of the two will be "electronic".

Same here. I use a Samsung tablet as an e-reader and one of my issues with that is if you bump the screen, the page changes. That doesn't happen with a printed magazine.
I think that another problem that magazines and newspapers are having is that young people don't read. Why read a magazine review when you can just watch a five minute video? Read the news? Again, watch a video.
That is sad. When it takes less time to skim an article than watch a video... Now there is a time where video is helpful, like showing how to change out things on your vehicle for example. Picture is worth a thousand words here. Most time though they are time wasters. I don't 'watch' the news, I go Fox and skim the headlines and then go read if interested. Don't care for watching talking heads. Reading takes a lot less time.

Takes less time to skim IF you can skim. Even so, the video is "easier" for the modern mind.
That’s rather sad. Hopefully, the NRA will come back round, eventually.
I still have the first issue of the American Handgunner. I read it cover to cover. Over the years, the Handgunner got stuck in a rut and kept recycling their articles but under different authors. Eventually, after years, I just stopped buying it.
I received a check today. Not sure if I should also post in one of the USPS discussions, only took 11 days to get from CA to WA
