Going to Myrtle beach April 23-28, fishing?

Yep got talked into going with wife, again. Does anyone know anything about piers that I can fish from that might be productive at that time. I want to use my own rods and would love to spend some time on a pier while wife shops. Fishing relaxes me. I welcome all advice, please as to tackle/rig/bait and how early I need to get there. I hate the beach but must make the best of it for her. She will be happy knowing I am fishing. ANY INFO,

Hi I can tell you there is a very long fishing pier there you pay a crazy low fee to use it I think it was under a buck I don't know what would be running while you are there but you can rent a rod or you could when I was there about 8 years ago I cant remember if you could buy bait there I spent a few hours shooting the sugar with all the fishermen had a good time

Well, there are a few piers in the Myrtle area. North Myrtle, South Myrtle etc. Most offer reasonable rates & a relaxing way to spend time. Why not do an internet search for them, and then call them to see what may be running? They live there & they know what's going on!

Check out Merrill's Inlet about 20-30 min from Myrtle Beach. There's a great public pier several hundred yards long and it's public for fishing. Been there several times but never fished there, although I 've seen some nice catches. There's also a 1/2 dozen great seafood restaurants there for lunch or dinner.

I hope you thought to take wet weather gear. Showers are predicted for the entire week.

Surffside Beach and Garden City both have one. Both are South of MB. SS is 10 or 15 min from MB depending on where you are staying and Garden City is another 5 or so down the road. SS has a good little restaurant on it. I'm not sure how good the fishing is. I don't do any fishing but the sights are nice on the deck at the restaurant. I spend a fair amount of time in the area during the summer.

I have little luck searching for info on pier fishing during that time frame, that is why I asked here. I am a fisherman, good fishing when it is raining and I don't mind. It beats shopping with wife. Ditto on the chit-chat, that is the best part of fishing. Last trip I just visited a couple of piers and had mucho fun just talking to others, I didn't even have a rod.
Fisherman for the most part stretch the truth but are kindred spirits. Never met a fisherman I didn't like, except some bass tournament fellers.
