My FAU Owls made the NCAA tournament. Last year they made the final four only to be bumped by 1 point.

Well the Owls lost first round by 1point . That will spare you all my posting of each game. There is always next year.
I think he is talking about some sports game where the players run back and forth on a big dance floor trying to put a pumpkin in a peach basket suspended up on a pole.
I've really never seen the big draw with one of these.... on most of the games you watch them do this for an hour or so and then who ever gets the pumpkin in the basket last wins.

Don't take it too serious MaxMan... I was just trying to out do Any Griffith and his description of football. Hope your Owls do good and you have a hoot watching them.

I guess if you had mentioned the big orange I would have connected. They blew it . Next year. Going to a small college and see them in the national championship is kinds neat for me.
I do my best not to take myself too seriously and I often see folks doing the opposite with sports.... I played high school football for 5 years... I get a funny look from folks when I mention that.... but the school I went to high school started in 8th grade.... so do the numbers..... when I graduated I was pretty much done with sports.... even when I was playing I could not get too wrapped up in the drama.... you do your best and what ever the outcome is that is it. We were a pretty poor exuse for a year or two... the first time we ever won a game I gained 50 yards for the other team in the 1st half.... of course they were down to their third string quarterback by the third quarter. They carried the first two off the field. I was a middle linebacker and just call me 'spike'.

Not close at all. The first basket was a peach basket. The newspaper article written the next day called it basket foot ball.
It was invented in Springfield Mass. same town as The Springfield Armory and S&W.

Well its FAU (Florida Atlantic Uni)....I could careless about basketball but football they are NCAA Div 1 in the American Conference...they are not a worry for most there...

Ummm.....you ran away from the LOS as a linebacker with possession? I played and coached football for many years....that baffles me or I've had one or two many bourbons tonight....

When I got my Garands from CMP I requested that I’d like them made at Springfield and during WWII. Luckily for me, they accommodated both on both rifles.
Big fan of history and the first US Armory 1777 and G Washington approved. Shame they closed it.

The Springfield Armory is a National park now. Very much worth a visit. If you do go, for a fee you can get a private tour of the upstairs storage area.
Basically the Armory had battle field pickups shipped from every battle in every corner of the earth. So the engineers could see what other countries were doing with small arms. The entire collection is on display. On open racks. You can't touch but he will pick up and let you look at anything as close as you want.
The guide will ask if you are interested in a specific time, war, country, etc. then he will take you to the correct area. Or will give a general tour. It is pretty epic.
You can drive by S&W , and the basketball hall of fame is also very close.
Interesting, didn't know it was a park now and that tour sounds great. That’s the kind of history us gun guys live for! It's about 3.5-4 hr drive for me so it seems like it would make a nice fall trip up there. Every couple years when the leaves change we take the Corvette upstate NY to West Point and surrounding area to have a nice day. Maybe we do Springfield next year and make a nice weekend trip before we move, it's a must see for me. Thanks
