Found today.....44 Flattop

Did a swap today at the show. Now have a 4 digit 44 Blackhawk Flattop. Nice gun, BUT I need to get parts to convert it back to the original configuration. Any suggestions?? Thanks! :D

Very nice find Dave, if the gun has been converted by Ruger to the
transfer bar lockwork and the owner/seller didn't have the original
parts to go with it, you ought to place a WTB, or Wanted to Buy ad
in the classifieds section of the forum here for what you need, and
hopefully several someones will have what you need. If you belong
to other forums that at least involve single actions, you might place
ads there too. Good luck!!

Well at least the conversion part of this has been corrected. It is amazing how much nicer the original style action is than the conversion kit. Anyone want a free conversion for an old model flat top 44? :lol: All it costs is the shipping. :lol:

Weather you use it or not, keep it with the gun. It's now part of the package.

Why ruined? Some folks like to have the conversion and Ruger returns the original lockwork so it's a 5 minute job to put the original lockwork back in the gun.

What ruined the collectibility of the poor thing is the refinish job....

This is what this neat old gun looks like with the correct internals and a little cleaner XR-3 frame with original style hard rubber grips. I was born the same year this was made and I only wish I looked as good! :lol: Heliman can attest to the fact that I don't! The last shot is just to show that I wasn't slipping a "ringer" gun in the first two pictures :wink:

Get that #3 project going! No, this one will end up going back up for sale soon though. The guy I had in mind for it had recently purchased a couple of NIB early Rugers and he had to pass on this one. If you hear of anybody looking for one, let me know.
