He picked the wrong gun to use, and the wrong place to rob. Granny's gun didn't jam; Granny didn't miss :ROFLMAO:

The brother closed the window to the food truck, so the suspect left his vehicle and slid the window open and reached inside to point his gun at the brother, Bui said.

At that point, the gun jammed when he tried to shoot.

That allowed the sister to shoot him with her gun.

Bui said that the suspect tried to run away before collapsing in the parking lot and dying.

I don't have any problems with the outcome. What I am trying to figure out is this part of the article.

I am trying to figure that part out. I have always considered a jam to be caused by a failure to feed or a failure to extract. I suspect they probably mean a fail to fire malfunction. Light primer strike, broken firing pin, faulty ammunition, etc. It just doesn't add up to me.
 
Gotta love stories like this. Sadly,, the media does NOT like to put this type of story out over the national news & run it for days & days on end.

Mike it's the "press". You really don't expect the news media and politicians to actually technically understand firearms do you? Even most the these folks who are not anti-gun have little technical knowledge and speak/write wit inaccurate terms.

My guess is that he didn't know how to take the safety off.
