Now they've done it. Just saw a commercial on TV. It was for a mattress. It's called the avocado mattress. It's supposed to be organic or something. They showed the usual couple romping around on the mattress. But then they showed two guys romping around on it.

I mean, how much of this crap do we have to see? It's a mattress commercial, why do they have to show two gay guys? What is becoming of this country? Why do they have to keep shoving this gay crap in our faces? I'm so glad I'm 75 years old and don't have that much time left to see the deterioration of this country for much longer.

I don't discuss my private, intimate life with anyone. I don't expect them to discuss theirs with me. What a person does in the privacy of their own home is their business. Gay or straight or trans or whatever. I don't care. Only they & God will have to discuss the morality of things.

With that,, the normal life's values are for a man & a woman to be together. Otherwise, no procreation.

But sadly,, a small portion of the population feel that they MUST shove their agenda & views upon the masses. The media, & Hollyweird think they must do all this. And sadly,, they have control of the mediums we all use to communicate. TV, movies, internet etc where they control the narrative & the advertising.

I can accept a person as a person. Period. But shoving stuff at us all the time and promoting their views as the only correct views,, is not acceptable. That's why I try to select businesses that either don't use their ads as a political platform, or if they do, I choose a different company to buy from whenever possible.

I personally think that there is a larger portion of the population who are tired of a lot of the "woke" attitude,, yet we are the calm, rational, intelligent people. And sadly,, we choose to follow the immortal words; "It's better to be silent & thought a fool, than to speak & remove all doubt."
We just don't take the time to organize & become a large voice to each & every company that apparently feels the need to use their company as a political or woke platform.

Sadly, I think we are seeing the slow downfall of a once great Country. Just as the Roman empire fell,,, we will too. And it'll happen from within.

I’ve seen this Avocado mattress advertised on the internet, but not on television.

They do look like nice mattresses.

However, we stream 100% of what we watch on the television. No commercials whatsoever. It doesn’t cost anymore than cable, and we don’t get bogged down with advertisements.

We were at a restaurant a few weeks ago. Whatever channel it was on, had an endless amount of commercials. I finally saw the commercial ya’ll were talking about with the Medicare sign up.

I have no idea why people still watch tv with commercials. I guess it give them something to complain about.

I don't like them either (commercials like that) but I realize that the commercials are not directed towards me. I am a predigest old guy and not in their marketing scheme. They intend to show middle-aged and younger people that they are with it. They want to sell their brand to people that will buy stuff from them now and in the future. Inter-racial and same-sex couples are with it, women covered with tattoos are with it and every other thing, rap music, sadistic video games, etc. etc. is with it. They want to alienate us older folks, it's that simple.

Having worked in a VA hospital for 30 years I feel that I can make one small observation: tattoos change over time. A lot, in many cases. What looks edgy and kool at 25 might look - just strange at 55. And stranger as time goes on....

When I was in the Navy I had an older buddy that had about four small tattoos on his arms about and inch by two inches. He wanted to get them removed. He checked in with the hospital on the base and they said they could do it.

What they did was to take a scalpel and cut out the tattoos with like an eyeball shape. Then they pulled the edges of the skin together and just stitched them up. Of course he had the scars then but he was just happy the tattoos were gone. That was back in about 1968 when they had no modern methods. He probably just made up some cool story to explain the scars !

My wife's niece was maybe 22 or 23 and had a orchid tattoo done on her left butt cheek. Nice bright colors, guessing well done, looked good at the time. Well that butt cheek is a WHOLE lot bigger now. We tend to pick on each other and if I see her eating something I'll ask her if she's still growing Orchids. And no I haven't seen it in a while but there's no way it could look right.

I agree with that statement 100%. I have never seen a tattoo that looked better than one's own bare skin without it. Just my opinion!

I agree with you! Not my thing and never thought about getting one. I know some that have some tattoos that are beautiful and easily covered and not all over their body. No tattoos here with me and I admit I had some liquid courage before getting the only two piercings I have, one in each ear lobe.

Thank God you're a lady with brains. ears are enough. Anytime I see some female with piercings in various places in her face, I just look at her and think, how stupid are you? What really gets me is that they actually think they look good like that. Why else would they do it?
