You thought you cancelled a backorder and re-ordered from another place and a month later, the BO shows up on the brown truck. Then while looking for a spot to store BOTH orders, you find a similar amount that you ordered last year and stuffed in an out of the way place (and promptly forgot you had).
Well, I'm not going to run short on varmint shooting ammo for a while. It won't spoil or mold, the cost isn't going to cause me, the kids, or the dogs to go hungry so WTH, it's all good.

I can't deny the age thing is showing. I thought that's why I had Grandkids--to follow me around "finding" all the things I "put away".

I once bought a new inside door for a bedroom in my house. I needed a hole saw to install it, so I bought one and did the install.

Around 5 years later, I needed to do another door. I couldn't find the hole saw so I bought another one and did the install.

Around 10 years after that, I need to do yet another door. Couldn't find either of the other two and so I bought a third one.

Seven years after that, I sold the house and while moving went into a cabinet I never go into. Found the 3 hole saws all lined up there together.

Turns out the wife would periodically "clean up" my workbench and put things "where they belong and can be found easily."

Well, that's a good story to tell the wife when she said "ok, but only one box of ammo this time."

Your stuff gets shoved off into a corner somewhere and hers is all front and center.

Well, I'll never run out of Teflon plumbing tape. Have to buy a new roll every time I need some cause somebody keeps hiding the old ones. And I live alone, go figure.

I did it with 9mm a few years back.... was down to like 50 rounds in my range bag as well as what was in my pistols... and the Orlando shooting happened and I figured there would be a rush on ammo and so ordered a thousand rounds bulk from Georgia arms... when I went to put it in my ammo cabinet I needed to move a ammo can of 380 out of the way and low and behold there was a ammo can with 500 rounds of 9mm behind it....

I just consider it an investment.

A while back I needed a pair of snips for work. I went to the store & got some. I bought an extra pair so when I trash the new pair I bought I would already have another pair. When I got to the truck I put the extra pair in the toolbox I have for work tools I don't use all the time but might need occasionally. When I opened the toolbox I found the extra pair I had bought the last time I needed a new pair of snips.

A few months ago, I overpaid for a NIB Ciener (platinum) .22LR mag for my Ciener 1911 conversion. I figured that I had better get a spare since I (thought) I only had the original mag that I have almost never used in the 15+ years that I had the conversion unit. Went to put it away and, of course, found the other (spare) mag just sitting there looking at me. p.s. that's just the "tip of the iceberg" as they say..............
