Show me your dogs. Don’t think we have thread on dogs yet. But here is Thor. He’s also in my avatar.

No pictures to post, but here's the dogs who have owned me over the years:
MISTER DOG the Dachshund -- lived to 21
Barkley the Beagle-- 7 or 8 before passing
Jessie Girl ------ Made it to 11 before numerous tumors
And Now my current owner:
DUKE-- an 8 year old Australian Sheepdog/Spaniel mix (I suspect it's WATER spaniel he wants to jump in ANY lake stream puddle or ocean !!

We have a German Shepherd, Bella and a Chihuahua mix, Remington.

Even though Bella is our dog, she is bonded 100% to my wife. She tolerates me. She was a rescue- actually all our dogs are/ have been rescues.

Little Remington is my boy. He sticks by my side, sits on my lap, and snuggles up beside me in bed. Here he is surveying his domain!

And here is a picture of our beloved Jessie. She was that “one dog” who always brings a tear to our eyes. She saw us through a lot of rough times and a lot of good time too. It’s been about 3 years since she passed and sometimes it hurts like it was yesterday.

My boy Harley Petmemore. Harley loves everybody and is a big clown. He's a rescue
that we got when he was 7 weeks old. He's 3 yrs old now and very much a member
of the family.
Here he is after a few Tequilas 😉

This is Buddy the Pom. We rescued him at age 4 from a puppy mill. He
spent all those years in a cage barely big enough to stand in. When we
got him he was missing hair, eat up with fleas, and his whole rear end
and belly hairless and full of sores like bed sores from sitting in his own filth.
Took us 6 months to heal his body and a year to heal his heart. When
it changed it was like a light came on, he was grinning and begging
for pets where the day before, he could have cared less. He attached
himself to my hip that day and though he loved my wife and was very
protective of her, he was my constant companion. No matter what
I was doing, riding my Harley or tractor he was with me. He died
in 2019 two months shy of 18 years old. I still dream about him and
think of him every day.

He was mine for 14 wonderful years and my idea of heaven has him waiting patiently for me
to come home to him.

Dano I despise puppy mills and kitten mills as well. The people who run them should be kept in the same condition as your beloved Buddy was kept. A good friend of mine has a Sheltie that was a breeding dog from a puppy mill run by a certain kind of people who drive buggies and supposedly shun modern ways.... It has taken him a year to get her to where she trusts people and knows that she truly has a good life.

Believe me, I agree 100%. My sister was involved in getting them shut down and prosecuted
for animal cruelty. Buddy was one of the dogs she personally fostered, got him to a vet
then brought him to me when I expressed interest. I hope there's a special place in #ell
for anyone who mistreats animals, especially dogs. She helped get all the Poms from
that mill to good homes. The bitches and pups were in better shape. It was the studs
that were never seen by the public and only used for sperm that were in such terrible
shape. His life started bad but he lived like a king his last 14. If Buddy couldn't go with
us, we didn't go (except for work of course).
Our Harley is my wife's dog. He loves me and if he's scared, worried or the vacuums
monster is on the loose, he comes to me to hold. Or when he wants a warm body to
nap on, it's me. But he follows my wife, sleeps at night against her, wants her to hold
him and is very protective of her. He brings her his toys to play with and if he can't
find her he goes all over the house looking until he finds her or he comes to me
for me to find her for him. He's her dog like Buddy was mine.
