Yesterday Jelly woke up and you could tell his stomach hurt from something. Not sure what. He didn’t have his usual energy level at all. Plus he was eating grass and tried to throw up.

I went to the store and bought chicken. When their tummy hurts, boiled chicken and rice helps.

Believe me, even with a stomach ache he doesn’t have any problems eating. 😀

He generally felt better throughout the day yesterday. But having more chicken, they had chicken and rice for breakfast today also.

Some dry dog food, along with chicken, rice, eggs, blueberries and watermelon. All stirred together. Yum???

And yes they eat outside. One time I gave them some oatmeal and peanut butter on a paper plate. Oatmeal went flying everywhere. They are incredibly sloppy eaters. No grace whatsoever.

My wife and I both talk about this. If they enjoy the food they eat? Or do they just woof it down. It takes them 2 1/2 minutes to eat.

And his internal clock works like a Swiss watch. Because today at 4pm, he is going to bother me until he gets dinner.

I refuse to eat chicken.... it is just foul.... and so won't feed my dogs it either... now cow and pig are different... old Bearegard got a nice porterhouse bone with still some meat on it Monday night... after he was done and only half the bone was left the little fox hound Tally Ho got to chew on it for an hour or so... I think between them the bone is now gone....

I agree with you in part about chicken. I can’t stand dark chicken or chicken skin. Only skin off organic chicken breast. Which is what Jelly got😀.

I just watched a cooking show on YouTube. The guy is French. He mentioned taking chicken skin off and frying it up to get crispy. Then use it on salads.

To me that sounds so incredibly gross.

fried chicken skin not much different than pork rinds. I suppose you guys don't like those either?

I like chicken, dark meat is preferred with skin on. White skin less chicken? I’d rather eat tofu. 🤮

Fried Chicken livers are my favorite breakfast meat.

I don’t give dogs table scraps or people food. Most of it gives them gas and intestinal discomfort. Not to mention messy stools.

When I was a kid, my dog was dying, wasn’t eating, lethargic, puking blood. She was a mess.

My Mom started feeding her boiled hamburger and rice. The dog lived another 10 years. Never ate anything else for the rest of her life.

I want to DNA sequence chicken and turkey to produce more skin. Crispy fowl skin I devour like a junk yard dog.
When we were kids our grandmother had a little mutt dog named Penny. She was copper colored and she resembled a Fox. Very smart, sweet dog. Lived to 18 years old and all she ever ate was pan fried liver my grandma cooked up for her every day and raw carrots.

Our dogs do eat some people food. I have to admit they love peanut butter.

But it’s plain foods. Like oatmeal, blueberries, chicken and rice. It’s actually pretty healthy for them. Unprocessed foods. Low sodium no extra fats etc.

Like your mom giving the dog hamburger and rice. My dad had a cat. He cooked ground turkey for the cat every day. She loved it.

And no, I won’t eat pig skin either.

My dog will beat you up and take your chicken.
We get roasted chickens from Sam's for $5 and the dog eats it for a week, mixed up with her dry food.
I'm pretty fond of it too, only without the dry dog food.

just last Saturday hit up the grill and made a chicken. Breast, skin and all, was marinated. The drum was sitting on 300 and they stayed on for an hour.
The taste was good and the skin was awesome, just tough meat.

If we weren't intended to eat critters of all shapes and sizes we would have different teeth. Tell that to a vegan sometime and ask them how they refute millions of years of evolutionary evidence. I don't know what it is, but every vegan / vegetarian type I meet looks sickly and smells bad.

Dogs on the other hand are by nature mostly carnivorous. And while some veggies aren't bad for them they tend to look healthier and smell better than human vegan types.

And dogs are a lot like children in that they tend to want to eat foods containing what their body needs. Adult humans on the other hand eat all sorts of stuff just because we like the taste.

Back around 1975 I dated a girl from Arkensas. Her mother took a bit of a shine towards me so I ended up eating dinner every night at their place. Seems like the only thing they ever ate was fried chicken and honestly, it was to die for. Dunno what she did to it but the good Col Sanders would cry like a baby and want to kill to get her recipe. I've always wondered id her daughter could do fried chicken as good as her mom's?

Pork and chicken cracklins are the BEST!......when we butcher hogs we always make a couple batches. Terrible for you but so good! Some Hot Old Bay seasoning and a ice cold beer...YUM. We don't do chicken cracklins often but boy are they good also.

I'm the only one who like crispy turkey skin......so at Thanksgiving and Christmas everyone peels off their skin and gives it to me.......my cardiologist would flip if she knew.....

Oh I don’t even know what to say. 😀 Aside from the occasional bacon or a ham sandwich every now and then, we don’t really even eat pork at our house.

Although they do eat gizzards and such in Bulgaria. My wife doesn’t though. But we were out to a restaurant once. And she refused to eat them. (Me too.) and her dad says, it was because she moved to America. And if she had stayed in Bulgaria she would be eating them. Which is funny because she never liked them, even before meeting me.

You'd have to hold me down and beat me to get me to eat the liver of any critter... now a chicken gizzard is a different thing.
My grandmother used to make a giblet gravy that was to die for... but I hated it when you got a piece of liver.
As I've said, it's not that I don't like chicken I just choose not to eat it. Now the real hypocrisy is that I pretty much eat an egg every morning.

Our 18 yr old Jack Russell got us up at 3:00 Wednesday morning getting sick, had mud butt all day yesterday, so last night we made a big batch of chicken and rice for her… hopefully she’ll be on the mend today ❤️‍🩹
