Deluxe reloading dies

What is difference in the Lee dies? I am looking on ebay and some say Deluxe Carbide 4 dies set and others look the same but don't say deluxe. The Deluxe sets are a little more expensive. What is the difference?

The Lee Deluxe 4 die set comes with the regular three die set plus the FCD.

Does that mean "Factory Crimp Die"?

Yes. The factory crimp die seems to have plenty of fans here.
I'm still new to reloading; I got the 4 die set for .38/.357 and it seems to work quite well.

It is good to separate the bullet seating and crimping operations and having a dedicated crimping die like the Lee FCD makes a lot of sense. The FCD supports the case during the crimp operation and it has a post crimp sizing ring to make sure the ammo is spec and will load in your gun without any problems. The only disadvantage is that some lead bullets, being larger, will make the case hard to go through the post crimp sizing ring.

Yup...

Not only do a lot of us think separate operations make for more consistent ammo, a fourth die simplifies the job, too!

The seating and crimping steps CAN be separated w/ the regular "third" die (seater/crimper) in all sets, but then you find yourself going back and forth w/ changing adjustments, resetting lock rings and such.

Having a fourth die, be it the Lee FCD I like or the Redding Profile Die that's also often recommended, allows the loader to set up each step w/ its dedicated die and then leave things alone.

Simple is good...

Ok thanks. The only difference is the Delux is the exact same set but with the FCD.
