I am sad.
50 years ago, I listened to him daily on the radio, while I was in the service. He was funny. It was also the time his TV career blossomed. I always enjoyed him.

May he Rest In Peace.

the final episode of his second show where he ran a small hotel or bed and breakfast has to be one of the funniest moments on tv.
I like to mention his part in some WWII movie with I think Steve McQueen,.

I remember him in "Hell is for Heroes" doing a 1 sided phone call to confuse the Germans that left a microphone in a bunker taken over by Americans. Blume, this is the movie that you are thinking about.

Bob Newhart's comedy was priceless. Never dirty, never swore. That takes talent.

That final show (of "Newhart"), where he wakes up in bed with Suzanne Pleshette, and declares he just had the "strangest dream", caused my wife and I to roll around the floor with laughter. I am so glad I have a couple of his vinyl albums, tucked away.
