saw a 4 inch Service Six today blued .357 mag with a prefix of #157,67xxx and they cannot find nor can I , any info, as its NOT on the Ruger site ,nor in the RENE reference....jumps in prefix from #156 to #158???? trying to get a pictrue but I cannot download it from my email any more????? nice looking gun......NO info:unsure:

thank you....

Yeah, I think 67Number1 nailed it. ALL the 157- prefix Six Series came out in 1981.

I know of 2 Security Sixes in that range but not a Service.

I too had assumed that, but it would have been so simple and easy to just complete the lines of years, oh well, thank you all.... he's had the gun for some years now and of course with no letters coming at this time, he was baffled, and I turned to the RENE for him and no go there either........;):rolleyes:

Thank you Mike and they are coming over tomorrow to look at my gun parts, he may want to sell it???? he bought it years ago on the east coast, they used set up at the Atlantic coastal shows, and his wife was a Director of the OGCA back when I was, in the early 90s at the I-X Center here in Cleveland...my, my, time flies......:cool:;)

yeah , I know I read that too, and over and over, no less, but my mind did not interpret it as to the "missing" skipped over #157 prefix,,,,, guilt by omission..........:rolleyes:
and nothing mentioned in the text (paragraphs along with the details), NOTHING special or noted as to #157............;)
