I have always considered the single-six, birdshead .32 as one of my have to have guns. I still don't have one, but with the cost of ammo, I was wondering if it is possible to convert one to .38 special. Just curious.

It's my understanding that it is possible as is just about anything with enough cash.

For the cost of a .38spl conversion, you could certainly set yourself up to reload the .32mag and buy yourself a bunch of components. The .32H&R is an easy cartridge to reload and gives you a very wide range of power.

You can reload .32H&R cheaper than you can buy factory .38spl.

If price of ammo is a concern the price tag for the conversion will put you into the hospital. For it to be done GOOD - I'm thinking $800-$1000.

Single Six makes a nice little 38 Special.

I have this .32 H&R mag single six. I really like the caliber and have reloaded for this one. It`s a snappy flat shooting accurate little gun with a sharp report and hardly any recoil.
I belive I will start packing this one more on the quad. Frankly, I havent shot it much, no good reason why, except I have so many other guns that keep me busy when I get the notion to play. Just find a .32, there must be some around. Mine isnt that rare, is it?

I just turned green with envy.

This has to be one of the neatest guns in the world!

Only if the roll mark on the other side looks like this......

I have three of the .32 mag. cal. Single-Sixes with adjustable sights. Fantastic little revolvers!

My brother has a gorgeous 38 special converted by Harton who started with a 32. Its for STANDARD loads only! Its a dandy conversion, very accurate and Henry has dispatched quite a few critters with it too. He runs a swaged 125 SWC on 5.0 231 I believe. He says its a killer.
