Cocking problem

I have an Old Vaquero that has a problem when I cock the hammer. It does not do this with one of the leaf spring under the grip removed. The problem is when I try and cock it the hammer comes back about 1/8 inch or less it stops. I can let is go forward a tinny bit and then it will cock to the rear. This only happens once in 12 or cockings. But it bothers me. I am not well versed in the parts names. But the hammer does catch on something. Again this does not happen with one of the leaf springs under the grips released like some people do to get the lightned trigger pull.

Sounds like the hammer spring or one leg of it is catching on the main spring ( the big spring)
