Call Center Question

Actually, I get a lot of call center people from the Philippines. Sometimes they are very stilted saying things like Mr. Smith I am sorry you are having a problem Mr. Simth I can help you Mr. Smith if you just give me a minute, Mr. Smith. Sometimes I tell them Please you don't have to do that all the time and just call me Max.

One time Delta sent me to India. The guy asked for my email, which admittedly a lot of people have problems with it. After about the third time the guy told me I had such a bad accent that he could not help me. I asked for a supervisor and was told none were available and click. Called back and got a woman with a very comforting southern accent who quickly went into a mockingly Indian accent. The problem was fixed. She this was not the first time with the guy in India.

I recognize the accent right off and I reply "I'm sorry, I can't speak to you right now, I must go defecate in the street".

All for it if it stops scammers ! I canceled more than one account because they had automated or foreigners !

As far as call centers go, have you ever tried to reach a bank's security team? Had to call one today, and it took probably about 25 minutes just to get a real person on the phone. I called the alleged security number, (which you'd think would be a direct number to them), and after several questions from a computer, it took me to my credit card account, where I could check my balance, etc. Which is not where I wanted to go. After screwing with it and going around in a loop for 3 or 4 tries, being directed back to my credit card account, I finally did get through to the security people and was able to get the info I needed. You'd think, for security concerns, they'd make it a little easier to get through to the security folks.
