brass grip frame

Never paid attention to anything OM and brass isn't my thing for the most part but having been only the 2nd one I'd ever had in front of me, I figured why not. Bought it from a very good gentleman and very knowledgeable Ruger aficionado/collector too which is better than just some nobody.
It's in raw form and it's just to be propped on the shelf with the rest of the 'stuff'.
I guess now I gotta keep my eyes open for the trigger and box.

The middle grip frame has the Factory "strapping tape" wrapped around the trigger to secure it to the grip frame. The proper box is also shown.....

I asked about the box & trigger. He had them but for his other's. Not really a big deal, it's just gonna sit on a shelf anyways.

Oh, and notice that the middle grip frame is w/o the grip locator dowel, as shipped from Ruger.

The other two MR3-DB's have obviously been fitted or partially fitted to guns and were "owner fitted" with the dowels.

I noticed. This one I picked up is lacking said dowel as well. Gonna stay that way too. Nicest $300 paper weight I've ever had.

Having a MR-3DB as a paperweight is almost the ultimate in Rugercool.

Flatgate, I had one at one time that had the trigger in a small brown parts envelope. I didn't buy it new so I don't know if it came that way.

Don't know how you guys can hold these MR3-DBs and not put them on guns... I have traded for 5 or 6 throught the years and they all ended up on, to use carl's term, Home Boy Brassies. Well.. maybe not all.. The last one is sitting in a box with a OM SBH cylinder and cylinder frame and a 5.5 Octagon barrel...

FWIW I think Ruger should have supplied SBH hammers with this kit also.. Buying SBH hammers for all my Home Boy Brassies really put a dent in my parts budget...
